I have to say that I'm proud to have been a customer of yours since almost the very beginning of your shop. I didn't get to meet you until just before I moved to Europe this summer, but I always heard such nice things about you from my household staff. I knew that my pets needs were being fulfilled and by someone that truly cared about these amazing creatures that make us so happy yet ask for next to nothing in return.

Living in Europe now and having close contact with several people from Switzerland that know the Bernese Mountain Dog breed, are always shocked at how old my dog is and how healthy he has remained. A close friend of mine from Bern, Switzerland is very impressed that my Gustav hasn't showed any signs of his age at all. She sees these dogs every day and would swear that my Gustav is still a puppy. It's a shame that people there, from what I hear, also do feed most dogs with commercial processed food.

I always tell people that it was with your help that all I've done is feed them an appropriate diet. No drugs, no chemicals, nothing but the correct food. And when I was worried of keeping up with their diet because I moved away from the States (and your shop), you were so kind to tell me exactly how to feed them on my own. Sure, it's interesting to carry 35 kilo's of meats, fruits, and vegetables on my bicycle just for the dogs but I enjoy it. Because, with your help, I know I'm doing what's best for them.

Paradise Pets To The Rescue

Diana & Jeff Saved My Bird�s Life - I bought a Love Bird and took him to the Vet for an exam. He was in perfect health. The Vet recommended that I put him on a diet of pellets only. He said if I took away seed he would adapt, otherwise it would be very difficult to get him to accept a pellet diet. I followed his instructions putting very little seed and mostly pellets in his cup, within 2 days the bird was so weak he couldn�t stand up. I rushed him back to the Vet and they took a series of blood tests, and said he had a liver problem.. The Vet said that liver disease could cause the bird not to eat.

Well to make a long story short I called the breeder, and she said that it was a bad idea to take away the seeds. Small birds will starve themselves if they don�t like the food. That�s exactly what was happening. She put me in touch with Diana and Jeff at Paradise Pets, and they offered to make a house call. After working all day in the shop, they drove out from N.J. to Greenwich Village, brought food that the bird was hand fed on, taught me how to hand feed, and suggested adding Pedialite to his diet, to avoid dehydration. They literally brought me to tears with their kindness.

Within 3 days Cheeky was up and around, and gained back the weight he�d lost. They saved his life and mine, because if Cheeky would have died, I think I would have too.

We�ve all stayed friends ever since. I buy all my bird food from them, they ship it to me each month, it works great. I value their expert advice, and suggestions, and they�re always available to answer questions. When shopping for a play gym they recommended something different than I was originally considering, I took their advice, and the bird loves it. They seem to know what works best, and I value their advice. Most of all they genuinely CARE about their customers and pets.

Sometimes you just know that you are meant to meet certain people. And for me they are Jeff and Diana and everything that is Paradise Pet. I stopped in last year just to look. I had recently lost a bird and while I knew I wanted another bird, I was scared and had alot of questions. Jeff and Diana had all the answers I needed. Without even making a purchase they treated me like I was their # 1 customer. Needless to say I was back within the week. Kasey and I, my Senegal, have been together now for a year. He is the love of my life and I can't imagine not having him. He was my first purchase at Paradise pet and not my last. We have added 2 cockatiels and now with our previous birds, our house totals 7 birds and their 2 humans. I can't thank Jeff and Diana enough for the gift that they gave me with their store, their time and their friendship. Keep up the great work you two. You have a lifelong customer and friend here.

I have been to numerous vets for my dog's allergies. They drugged my dog and changed his food many times with prescription diets and never helped. I tried commercial foods but could never get the nutrition advice I needed. After visiting Paradise Pet and switching to one of their foods, I haven't seen an outbreak since. I bought this expensive food from them, but it has saved me hundreds in vet bills since I don't need the vet for my dog's allergies anymore.

My only complaint about Paradise Pet is that they're not closer to my house. On top of continuing to buy all my dog and cat food, treats, equipment, and toys from Paradise, I could then reap the rewards of DAILY exposure to their many years of experience with animal nutrition and training. In addition to being a great educational resource, the owners are extremely nice and extremely ethical. And the prices are more than fair. For me, Paradise Pet is the perfect antidote to the large, impersonal, and generic pet chains.

My name is Emy , my experience is really not directly with the store but it was with adoption. My husband and I adopted a Pit mix. .... We named him Buddy and I just wanted to congratulate Jeff on the work that he and his wife, Diana, do by fostering these puppies then trying to find good and suitable homes for the puppies. Especailly because they are Pit Bulls that they foster. Pit bulls have gotten a bad rap, being known as horrible dogs and are vicious - well that is not true at all. It is all in the raising. People make bad dogs. Pit bulls are the most loving and devoted dogs. They love everyone and everything....... All I can say is Thank God for Jeff and Diana all the work they do.

I can't believe how beautiful and healthy their birds are. Their store is always clean and the animals are well kept. What I like best though is that every time I have a question, they have an answer. They are knowledgeable and super friendly. I have one of their cockatiels and it's so much nicer and healthier looking than any I've seen in NJ.
